Social Media Comment Guidelines
Welcome! Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) looks forward to your participation on our social media channels, and we encourage you to share your thoughts on the topics being discussed.
These guidelines explain a few things you should know about posting comments on our social media channels.
We Monitor Comments During Normal Business Hours
If you have a sewer emergency, call (925) 933-0990 any time.
We monitor our social media channels and respond to comments during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. When our offices are closed for holidays, we review comments on the next business day.

Central San encourages employees and the public to participate and share their knowledge about topics relevant to our agency, but please note that views expressed in social media comments reflect those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official views of Central San.

WE MODERATE COMMENTS
We want our social media channels to provide a welcoming environment for everyone who participates. We reserve the right to delete comments that:
- Contain hate speech directed at race, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, or disability that is unrelated to the content of the post and/or constitutes incitement or threats of violence
- Contain obscene, indecent, or profane language
- Contain threats or defamatory statements
- Promote or endorse services or products (Note that non-commercial links that are relevant to the topic or another comment are acceptable.)
YOUR COMMENTS ARE PUBLIC RECORDS
Because Central San is a public agency, the information and comments posted on our social media channels are public records and will be retained in accordance with the Public Records Act. Any content posted—comments (even deleted comments), photos, videos, subscriber lists, etc.—could be subject to public disclosure.
PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION
To protect your privacy, please do not include personal information (such as your email address or phone number) in your comments or social media posts. In some cases, we may send you a private message or ask you to contact us with your name and email address so that we may follow up with you about your comments.
