  • Introduction

Whether you're a homeowner, business owner, developer, or contractor who wants to hook up to the sewer system, CCCSD's Permit team is committed to making the process efficient. The type of user you are (residential or commercial), indicates the fees you will be required to pay, the forms you will need to submit, and the specifications you must follow.

    Terminology Related to Sanitary Districts

Easement: An easement is the right to use another person's land for a stated purpose (e.g., locating and maintaining a sewer line). It can involve a general or specific portion of the property.

Right of Way: The right of the District to build, operate, or maintain facilities (utilities) on public or private property.

Encroachment: Anything that intrudes into a right-of-way area such as a building, deck, tree, or another utility. Anything that prevents access or use of the District's right-of-way can be considered an encroachment.

Annexation: To add or include land into an existing district or municipality for the purpose of providing utility services.

    Fees

Sewer connections are handled by the Permit Team on an individual basis, making it extremely difficult to list all possible scenarios and their associated fees. While the basic fee for a residential hookup is $5,000 and up, there are many stipulations that can significantly increase this figure. For an exact calculation of your connection fees, contact the Permit Team.
