National Association of Clean Water Agencies’ (NACWA) Peak Performance Platinum Award – 25 Years
This award recognizes the District’s processing of more than 30 billion gallons of wastewater last year without a single permit violation. The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit demands strict adherence to stringent Federal, State, and regional water quality requirements. Meeting 100% compliance means Central San is achieving its ultimate goals of protecting the environment and keeping pollutants out of the Bay.

Government Finance Officers Association of the United States & Canada’s Distinguished Budget Award for FY 2018-19 Budget Document
This is the first time that Central San has received this award. IT is presented for documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA’s best practices on budgeting and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.

Government Finance Officers Association of the United States & Canada’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
This is the 20th consecutive year that Central San’s Finance and Accounting Division staff has received this award, given for the team’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). This award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and finance recording.

California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO)

CAPIO is a membership organization serving more than 500 professionals throughout the public sector who engage communities through honest and transparent communication. CAPIO Excellence in Communications awards honors outstanding public agency information and communications programs.

National Purchasing Institute’s Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award
Central San’s Purchasing and Material Services team won this award again in 2020. This is the ninth time the team has received this award, which recognizes organizational excellence in procurement, with emphasis on innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership. Central San is one of only 46 government agencies in California, and one of only 31 special districts in the United States to receive this award.
